CBG (Cannabigerol) Isolate
CBG(Cannabigerol) Isolate is a crystalline powder that contains 96%-99% pure CBG and is extracted using traditional extraction processes from distillates. This extraction process removes all active compounds from the cannabis plant and is further refined to remove all other phytocannabinoids. This includes THC and all plant matter.
There are some variations of the powder, depending on the process. This can change the size of the CBG crystals from a fine white powder or larger crystals more granular in shape and size. There is little to no odor from this product and the color is nearly always a pure white.
There are several ways to make CBG Isolate and our method is an ethanol based extraction. When the extraction process is taking place a number of compounds are identified to be removed and these include;
plant matter, cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, fats and lipids. At this point the CBG needs to be removed from the rest and is done through a series of washing and separation steps. CBG is a more difficult product to obtain as it is found in significantly smaller amounts in the Hemp plant. This is typically in a 10-1 or 20-1 ratio of CBD to CBG and therefore requires 10 to 20 times more biomass to create the same amount of CBG as CBD.
Due to the amount of CBG available in the Hemp plant most manufacturers add CBG to to a CBD product in a similar 10-1 ratio as the plant for products geared toward sleep and relaxation. This is because many studies have linked CBG to being a great relaxing or sedative compound.
